The booking process

Here's what to expect when booking an item on BorrowMe.

Step 1: Select dates

  • Choose your pickup date
  • Choose your return date
  • Check the price calculation

    • Step 2: Review costs

  • Daily/weekly rental rate
  • Service fee (10%)
  • Security deposit (if required)
  • Total due now vs. security hold

    • Step 3: Send request

  • Add a message to the lender (recommended)
  • Introduce yourself
  • Explain your intended use
  • Ask any final questions

    • Step 4: Await approval

  • Lender has 24 hours to respond
  • You'll be notified either way
  • No charge until approved

    • Step 5: Payment processed

  • Your card is charged upon approval
  • Security deposit is held (not charged)
  • You'll receive confirmation

    • Step 6: Coordinate pickup

  • Message the lender
  • Agree on pickup time and location
  • Get any access instructions

    • What if declined?

  • No payment is taken
  • Check other similar listings
  • Consider adjusting your dates
  • Message to ask why (politely)

    • Booking tips

  • Complete your profile before requesting
  • Have verified status if required
  • Book in advance for popular items
  • Be responsive to messages
